Core Concepts

Audit history and retention

Understand how previous audits support trend analysis.

Why history matters

Audit history lets Brand Auditor compare the latest completed audit with previous completed audits. Trend services use stored score snapshots rather than reprocessing the full audit data every time.

Retention is plan-based

Starter keeps audit history for 1 year, Professional for 3 years, and Enterprise for 5 years. Complimentary teams use the Enterprise retention window.

If an audit falls outside the team retention window, the audit view redirects back to the brand history page and shows a message explaining that the audit is outside plan retention.

Zero scores still count

A completed audit with a zero visibility score is still treated as real data. Brand Auditor intentionally includes zero-scored audits in latest-audit and trend logic so low or missing visibility is not hidden.

Use history with change notes

When interpreting trends, compare score movement with the timing of content changes, competitor changes, keyword changes, market changes, and scheduled audits. History is strongest when the team knows what changed between snapshots.
